Black Jack Rules

Blackjack is probably the oldest game history records and it is much easier to play than it is to explain. The rules and the aim of the game are really simple and easy to learn. The aim of the game is to achieve a hand with a higher value than the dealer's hand and as close to 21 as possible, but not higher than 21. Despite the fact that there may be other players at the table, your only opponent is the dealer and you only compete against him. The fact that its rules are simple makes blackjack one of the most popular games among gamblers. We're saying that because there are quite few decisions you can make. Once you are dealt your cards, you need to evaluate them, and depending on how good you think they are, you can hit, double your bet, split pairs or fold if you don't think you have any chances of winning.

When the game begins, you place your bet and right after that you and the other players are all dealt a face up card each, including the dealer, except the fact that the dealer's card is face down. Then, each player is dealt another card, face up. Then, in clockwise order, each player decides if he should or should not ask for more cards. When all players finish their hands, it's the dealer's turn to complete his hand. So, after all players have done this, the dealer keeps drawing cards until he gets as close as possible to 21 or busts.

If the total value of your cards is higher than the value of the dealer's cards, but not higher than 21, you win. Otherwise, you lose. Also, whoever goes over 21 loses. The value of the cards is easy to understand. The picture cards or face cards count as 10 points, the aces may have two values, of 1 or 11, depending on what is best in each situation and the other cards have the numerical value indicated on them. Jokers are not used in blackjack. Unlike us, the dealer has fewer options, less things to choose from. He must keep taking cards until he reaches 16. If the value of his hand is of at least 17, he must stop taking cards.

As for splitting, you can do this if the first two cards you are dealt, meaning you can split them and form separate hands. When you do this, you get an extra card for each hand and you need to place a bet of an equal value with your initial bet.

When the dealer's first card is an ace, he announces "insurance". In such cases you can place a bet which can be as high as half of your initial bet, to ensure your hand if the dealer has a blackjack. If he doesn't, the bet is lost. Blackjack is a game with high winning odds, absolutely independent from the dealer or from other external factors because the random number generator works in each game. So, all odds are in your favor and it is easy to get lucky at such an easy game.
